Winnipeg Jets playoff layout

So, the Winnipeg Jets 2019 playoff run was too short but our family had fun while it lasted. We ironed on HTV and created customized t-shirts to go to games and I made a banner to decorate the family room for hosting viewing parties.

I had this ice surface design in my head for months before I finally created it. This design would be super easy to create for any hockey team. You can just cut a team logo in half over the red line. The toughest part was slicing in all the jet planes.

Winnipeg Jets - Playoff Projects

Our family loves hockey! Our son plays community hockey and my husband coaches. We are also fans of our city's NHL team, the Winnipeg Jets. They have clinched a spot on the 2018 playoffs. Therefore, I have game-watching parties to prepare for. Here are some previously posted ideas.

This banner was for my son's tenth birthday party.

Invitations to the birthday party.

Lootbags.

This layout was from the last time we were in the playoffs. I added a QR code to remember our playoff anthem from Youtube.

Here is my QR code blog post.

I made cupcake toppers in the whiteout colors.

Now what should I make this year?

Adding a QR code to your scrapbooking - Winnipeg Jets layout

I have wanted to learn how to add a QR code to a layout for awhile now. Thank you to everyone that has posted a tutorial on this. I created this page almost a year ago to remember our family's excitement to have our hockey team in the playoffs. Our entire city was cheering them on! Each day, the kids and I listened to the Jets Playoff Anthem that a local radio station wrote and produced. We loved this song and would blast it in the car to drive to school passing by Winnipeg Jet signs and flags. I still smile when I think of it. I felt that I wanted to include the YouTube video for this song as part of my scrapbook page. Yes, I pulled out a page from a year ago and added to it today. The website I used to create the code is GoQR. I copied the YouTube URL and within seconds my QR code was there. The scrapbooking possibilities are endless. I could add anything to my pages.

*Note my cute cupcake toppers and yes I do have a goal horn in my family room**

My hope is that many years from now, my family or a friend will see this layout and understand how thrilled my kids were to experience this playoff frenzy for the first time and the video link will add to the story.

*Cross your fingers the Winnipeg Jets will make the playoffs again... next year.*

Hockey dreams - Winnipeg Jets layout

My son has won a contest, he will be on the ice during the national anthems at an NHL hockey game holding the Canadian flag.

We are all so excited for him!

I have even made this layout for a future picture from that night.

I created the hockey logo with my Gypsy using many basic shapes from the George Cricut cartridge. The skate is a brad purchased at my LSS. The hockey paper is by Karen Foster.

My shopping thoughts about hockey scrapbook paper is when I see, I buy it because there is not too much of it around and my son has now been playing hockey for six years.

That's a lot of hockey layouts!

Have a wonderful day!

My first Christmas card 2011 - Winnipeg Jets

This first card kind of started out as a joke. I thought my husband would get a kick of this hockey card but... now he wants more of them to give out to friends and co-workers.

Winnipeg Jets hockey party projects

Yesterday, we celebrated my son's 11th birthday with his friends. Here are some of the party things my husband and I made. For the party, my son had his friends over to watch the very first Winnipeg Jets (former Atlanta) game on tv.

The banner was super quick to make with leftover invitation pieces and the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge.

The cake by my husband. This was his first experience with royal icing. I think he did a great job!

These are the invitations that I already posted.

The mantel all ready for the puck drop!

I made the lootbags with the Sports Mania Cricut cartridge. The skates are laced with floss and the blades are cut with metallic paper. These things were all fun to make!
