Dad's Day

Are you looking for a last minute card idea for Father's Day? I personally think that manly cards can be clean and simple. For this card, I used cuts from the Sports Mania Cricut cartridge and Father's Day - Fan Club available with my Cricut Access subscription. There are only seven cuts on this cartridge but I love them all! Both cartridges are perfect for sports fans, male or female.

I was sent these yummy envelope samples from

http://www.paper-garden.ca/categories/envelopes.html

They have an amazing selection of beautiful envelopes (and paper) to complete your card creations! (The Paper Garden is based in British Columbia so no duty for us Canadians.)

Graduation centerpieces take - 2

Two years ago, I made these centerpieces for my son's grade four graduation. Now it is time for my daughter to leave for middle school. I tracked them down in storage at the school but realized that they needed some repairs. Of course, I couldn't leave well enough alone and changed them up a bit.

These pots were only 50 cents each to begin with, so I didn't mind purchasing some pencils for an added element as well as some acrylic paint to jazz them up. I recruited my MIL to help with the painting while I re-cut a few school supplies and re-glued a few more. The ruler idea I got from here My Happy Place
I love the new look but can't believe how quickly my children are growing.

At the Ball Park

What is a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon? It could be cheering on a baseball team. Even better with tickets won by my daughter and her colouring skills. We had a wonderful time with concession goodies included in her prize package.

I think this is the first time I have scrapped anything baseball. I had to even pick up this baseball paper, knowing that I had this pictures.
Have a wonderful day!!

Winnipeg Jets hockey party projects

Yesterday, we celebrated my son's 11th birthday with his friends. Here are some of the party things my husband and I made. For the party, my son had his friends over to watch the very first Winnipeg Jets (former Atlanta) game on tv.

The banner was super quick to make with leftover invitation pieces and the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge.

The cake by my husband. This was his first experience with royal icing. I think he did a great job!

These are the invitations that I already posted.

The mantel all ready for the puck drop!

I made the lootbags with the Sports Mania Cricut cartridge. The skates are laced with floss and the blades are cut with metallic paper. These things were all fun to make!

Two layouts today

We spent a wonderful afternoon getting lost at a local corn maze on Thanksgiving day this year.

I know this layout is very simple but I just wanted to show how using metallic paper can add so much. I bought a pack of metallic cardstock from the Dollar Store.

My son will be thrilled, he can't wait to have this trophy layout completed.

Cross-country layout

This is my son's second year of fall cross-country meets. His school walks to a nearby beautiful, tree-filled park. The students run races against other community schools. I enjoy watching the meets and feel so proud of my son.

Last year, my layout for these races was all done with the Sports Mania cartridge. So this year, I wanted something different. A layout that shows the lovely fall we are having as well as the awesome meets.

I am entering this layout for the following challenges:

1. Falling Leaves at Fantabulous Cricut

2. Anything but a card at Made by Momo

3. Sports theme at My Creative Time

Cuttlebug blog challenge #5

Look what I found when I uploaded my camera? It's my entry for the Cuttlebug Blog.

Unfortunately, you can barely see the de-embossing on the golf ball with the Swiss Dots folder. I also used the background feature on the Sports Mania cartridge to make the green paper covered in little golf tees.

Graduation centerpieces

Well, Grade 4 graduation that is. My son starts Middle School in the fall and today was his grad lunch. I made 10 centerpieces and a banner to decorate the gym. I tried to use images that represented their schooling. These were fun to make. Another Mom even came over to help me glue them together.

The pots I bought for 50 cents each and the only other thing I bought was florist foam also from the dollar store.

My children go to French Immersion school. The pots say, "Good bye Graduate".

Super quick card for Dad

This card is for my Dad. (My DH's card was posted in May.) I am entering this card at Fantabulous Cricut. The challenge this week is a project for Dad.

I designed this shape card with my Gypsy and welded the letters "fore you". I de-embossed the card hoping to make it look like a golf ball.

MPS challenge #7 - Hey Dad

Shhh.. This card is for my husband. He loves hockey ( I am a hockey playoff widow right now) so Sports Mania was the cartridge to pull out.

You can find more info about this challenge here.

I used DCWV Metallic and Shimmer papers to glitz this card up.

Cricutters Anonymous challenge #32 - hockey coach cards

This my first challenge with Cricutters Anonymous
Our son has just finished a fabulous hockey season, well winter hockey season. Spring hockey begins shortly. These are the cards I made to go along with their team coaches' gifts. Yes, you are counting correcting, we had a lot of great coaching talent. There were 7 coaches and 1 team manager. One of those kind and talented coaches was my husband, therefore one of these hockey puck cards will be for him! The colors I chose are the team colors.

The challenge for Cricutters Anonymous was to make a project for a family member.

Sporty layouts

I have kids in sports and after a few years in hockey or soccer or any other sport you start to run out of ideas to scrap the pictures. In the case of hockey, you can run out of different papers as well. The Sports Mania cartridge has a background page as one of it's creative features. Here are my new background pages to scrap both kids' soccer and my son's hockey.
