Day Nine of Christmas Projects - Zamboni slider card

This is my first slider card ever. It was super easy to make but one difficult step here in Canada was to find two pennies. We no longer make or use the penny as currency. (We round up or down.) I ended up having to use nickels. Therefore, this card has a value of ten cents and it is a bit on the heavy side. I won't be able to mail this one without extra charges.

To create the zamboni's track, I sliced, using my Cricut Explore, a skinny rectangle across the card front. My card front is glued to the base with the two nickels in between. I adhered the zamboni to the two nickels on the inside of the card front using pop dots. Santa can now drive the zamboni across the ice surface. I found the zamboni cut online but needed to edit it a bit. Santa is from the Jolly Holidays Cricut cartridge.

Day Five of Christmas Projects - Swimming Santa

We have cousins who have just put in an inground pool in their backyard. I knew I wanted to incorporate this exciting renovation in a Christmas card for them! To create the sentiment, I used the Cricut Explore write feature. I thought of a “pool pun” and had my machine write it out for me using a marker. The Explore then cut out the surrounding shape. I love being able to make my own card sentiments this way.

Be sure to come back on Day Six for a z-fold card.

Day One of Christmas Projects - Amazon card

Yay! My twelve days of Christmas projects is finally here! Welcome to Day One!

I saw this sentiment on a holiday shirt and thought it would make a funny card for one of my friends (who shall remain nameless).

I do love this card but it was quite fussy to glue all the letters so I only made one.

See you tomorrow for Day Two of Christmas Projects where I feature a card for dog lovers.

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects - Day 10 Tags

Welcome! Tags - everybody needs them... Here are a few ideas
Use a pen in your Cricut Explore. This was so quick to do!

Use pocket cards and add a few embellishments.

Chop up your holiday stacks of paper. I'm sure there are some tags hidden in your paper stacks.

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects - Day 4 S-elf-ie

Welcome to day four of Christmas projects! I couldn't resist making this elf-selfie card.

For the sentiment, I used a Crayola fine tip marker in my Explore. So easy to do using the add text feature with the Cricut Explore.

See you Friday for Day Five!

Zumba Santa Christmas card - day 7

I had to make a card for my fitness instructor! I have been doing tons of zumba classes this fall and honestly had wanted to make a card like this last Christmas but ran out of time.

This Santa is from the Jolly Holidays Cricut cartridge but I changed him up a bit to look like he is working out. Originally, he was the beach Santa from the cartridge.

Now I am off to zumba!

Thank you for popping by!

Day 4 of Holiday inspiration - Santa card

There is a story behind this card. Our city has had its first IKEA store built. The store opened on last Tuesday with much fanfare, advertising and hype. It seems that everyone here is talking about it and shopping at the store. So, of course, I needed to put it on a Christmas card. I hope people see the humour in it.

This card was an easy one. You know, clean lines, like IKEA.
Santa is from the Jolly Holidays Cricut cartridge. The font is from Opposites Attract. The sentiment is by Scrappy Moms Stamps.

My Second Christmas Card - 2011

That's for popping in. Thank you everyone for posting so many amazing Christmas projects! I have so much inspiration every time I log in to Blogger!

I try and make my Christmas cards in groups of 12. So up to now, I have made a dozen "Winnipeg Jets cards" and a dozen of these.

I love this sentiment from Scrappy Moms stamps. My Santa is from the Jolly Holidays cartridge. The moon is just a circle from George and Basic Shapes. I used a hole punch on some white felt for Santa's pompom and some twine purchased at my LSS for his reins.

One tip with this cut. I de-embossed my Santa beard so that I wouldn't lose any glue space to adhere Santa's tiny face.

Fantabulous Cricut challenge #64 - Wedding Wishes

The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut this week is to make something wedding that incorporates the colour white and a bell. I got married in 1999 so when someone says "wedding bell" I think of those tissue paper- honeycomb bells. That's what I tried to make for this card.

This shape card is made with my Gypsy and the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge. The bells are actually cut from the Jolly Holidays cartridge but I needed to trim the ribbon and bottom a bit. I cut each bell five times, folded them in half and glued them together. Once the glue was dry, I glued the bells to the car. I used some thin ribbon (on sale at Michaels this week) to "tie" up the bells.

Thanks for looking!

If you would like to submit an entry go visit Fantabulous Cricut. I am also entering this card atDie Cuttin' Divas. Their challenge this week is Wedded Bliss. They ask not to include hearts in your project. I love that challenge idea!
