Day Twelve of Christmas Projects - Canvas Quote

Day Twelve is a canvas I made for my mantel. I have not done many projects like this so I was still learning as I went.

Lesson 1 - Transfer tape is your friend
Lesson 2 - Placing a book in the middle of the canvas makes the vinyl stick much better

Yay! All twelve projects are complete which includes 50 handmade cards, 20 tags, 6 pop up gift card holders, 7 hot cocoa sliders, 1 scrapbooking layout and 1 canvas!

Day Eleven of Christmas Projects - Quick Pop Up Card

It is December 16th - Crunch time! If you are making cards, I imagine you want them to be simple and quick. Here is my suggestion. It is from the Cricut cartridge Simple Pop Up Cards. This cartridge is included in the Design Space subscription.

I needed to put something on the outside.

I used a Crayola thin marker as well as my scoring tool on this card.

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects - Day 10 Tags

Welcome! Tags - everybody needs them... Here are a few ideas
Use a pen in your Cricut Explore. This was so quick to do!

Use pocket cards and add a few embellishments.

Chop up your holiday stacks of paper. I'm sure there are some tags hidden in your paper stacks.

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects Day 7 - Yoda card

I am amazed at all of the Star Wars merchandise in the stores this year with the new movie coming out. I usually try and do some holiday cards that are current on trending topics so I knew I needed some Star Wars cards this year.

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects Day 4 - Wine Quote Card

I love this quote and thought it would be a funny card for my neighbours. I started working on it in Design Space with the fonts but ended up printing off wine bottle tags and trimming them. This card was super quick to put together!

You can find this printable at Oh My Creative
I hope to see you Monday for Day 5!

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects Day 3 - Ugly Sweater Card

Welcome to Day 3 of Christmas projects!

I knew I needed to make an ugly sweater card this year because they are all the rage. Every single store seems to have them stocked (even non-clothing stores). For this card, I used the Cricut cartridge Sweater Weather. Love these "stitchy" cuts!

Twelve Days of Christmas Projects Day 2 - Elf on the Shelf layout

We all have those photos of a mischievous Elf on the Shelf. Now is the perfect time to scrapbook them! Our elf is named Ruby and she has a lot of fun in our home each December. I searched high and low to find a free Elf on the Shelf cut file. This one is from Crafting with Meek. I suggest cutting it quite large because there are some tiny pieces or print and cut it.

Our silly elf was playing with my daughter's Instax camera! Love those instant cameras.

Please come back tomorrow (bring a cup of tea or even Thanksgiving leftovers) to join me for day 1! I have cards, a layout, tags and (hopefully) a home decor canvas.

See you tomorrow!

I am one of those Moms who loves to make Halloween crafts, costumes, carve pumpkins and make scary meals. My kids never know what to expect in October...

Here is a simple layout of some of the spooky food we ate last October.

Meeting the Prime Minister

So, this happened at my zumba class. Following the great workout, the Prime Minister of Canada visited the community centre to meet with other local Members of Parliament. This was something I never expected to happen living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was a very neat random meeting, no matter which political party you support. Of course, I needed to scrap it. Here is page one, showing the official Government of Canada vehicles.

Canada Day scrapbooking products 2015 (or lack thereof)

I have been searching locally and online for Canada themed paper and embellishments. It doesn't seem like there is much out there this year. My local stores have nothing. :( I did find some papers online though.

This paper is by Reminisce.

This grey scale paper is available from Scrapbook Customs

This is from Paper House Productions.

Please leave me a comment if you have found any products near you.

Superdad Father's Day card

I knew I wanted to make the hubs some type of Superdad card. (He really is a Superdad and husband.) The Summer Celebrations Cricut cartridge has this Superdad image. I cut it out, as well as a free Superman logo I uploaded. Stuck them together, and voila!

Pop-Up Thank Ewe Card

Hello! I have been busy making end of the school year cards. Currently,I am obsessed with pop-up cards. They are so fun to make. If you haven't played with the new Cricut cartridge called Simple Pop-Up Cards, I recommend it. (This cartridge is included in the subscription.) All the cards are simple two layer pop-ups using the score tool and a Cricut compatible pen.

So fun!

Mother's Day Cards 2015

Good Day! I am having fun this week playing with the Design Space program. There are many great Make It Now Mother's Day projects.

The card below is very similar to the example they provide on Design Space. I thought it would be a great "mailable" card for my grandmother who loves daisies.

Teen Mini Album Class

Hello Folks! Last week I taught a teen scrapbooking class. This was the largest group I have taught so I decided to make kits. You know, like the "real scrapbooking teachers". It was tons of work but I think everything went smoothly. The kids had fun and so did I!

It's Rice Krispies Treats made with Lucky Charms cereal.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

Hi-dee-ho folks! I am embarrassed to admit that this card is from August. I uploaded photos today from our camera card and surprise there was the anniversary card I made the hubs for our 15th wedding anniversary. We decided to buy a fire table as a gift to each other this year and the card is a play on words about that.

Happy anniversary to us!

Happy New Year!

I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday season! While I was on Facebook today, I was reminded of my scrappy New Year's resolutions from last January. I quickly checked my post as I couldn't even remember what I resolved to do. (not good) Imagine my surprise when I realized that I had almost fulfilled all my forgotten goals. Here they are:
This year, I hope to catch up with my layouts. I have gotten a bit behind. I will document 2012 and 2013.

This year, I would like to journal on each and every layout.

This year, I will have more fun with all my scrappy toys and my fabulous and inspirational cropping and scrapping friends! (In person and afar)

I guess that purchasing the Cricut Explore really did help me to fulfill these goals. I scrapbooked every day when I had the free subscription. I also joined an online crop with challenges. That forced me to create, be inspired and have fun! Anyhoo, wishing you a super scrappy year!
