The northern lights have been so beautiful this year! The black outline is a Cricut cut from Design Space. I sized it for a slimline card and added cardstock and glitter cardstock in all the negative spaces. The Santa in the sky is the only christmas-y element.<br/><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj973nEWWRYmPxzy7Fte-VrEorkaJP03ZHuzPy0-9lwlHrcpv9wU2ct0O3egC_CbPg_xfEe3G05Y6LHfXNkWCIefdZeZvs8V40bX7bsZOJ1j2Em5V8KoHfKmnUzG_lckA6eX-jF-EEENz6puvGNQGM8nbJRb3tVlbL-QJUPWFCiwT8vCF8acXr0vJkybD1h/s4032/IMG_8076.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="2917" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj973nEWWRYmPxzy7Fte-VrEorkaJP03ZHuzPy0-9lwlHrcpv9wU2ct0O3egC_CbPg_xfEe3G05Y6LHfXNkWCIefdZeZvs8V40bX7bsZOJ1j2Em5V8KoHfKmnUzG_lckA6eX-jF-EEENz6puvGNQGM8nbJRb3tVlbL-QJUPWFCiwT8vCF8acXr0vJkybD1h/s400/IMG_8076.jpeg"/></a></div>The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3115069303385519300.post-37230403512319148692023-12-18T16:00:00.001-06:002023-12-18T16:00:08.627-06:00Camper Christmas Card<br/>Friends of ours have recently renovated an older camping trailer. Along with the food, they give each child an inspirational note. This program, called Meals2Go requires approximately 16 000 notes for the year. I realized that I could easily make some notes to donate. I have now made a conscious effort to use the scrap paper sitting on my desk to make a note or 2 or 3.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhep9-svPq4WLNKzd-OzZN6iIrW8ENGzDRsNhvudgIfvFrQbgUupwtX45DURQ3zFPIt1IUsPta0wyJi6lTZX5AgSfe-g6HEEiw3qHKTnDKouObfvcHrhgksiHiLJcAnYYFcvOJWjXPo1Zt0DTJ-5ZZYZ-BdEeID9-FSlowr_ZS230KHOFc7vnwbTHTyq9Jy/s4032/IMG_7747.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhep9-svPq4WLNKzd-OzZN6iIrW8ENGzDRsNhvudgIfvFrQbgUupwtX45DURQ3zFPIt1IUsPta0wyJi6lTZX5AgSfe-g6HEEiw3qHKTnDKouObfvcHrhgksiHiLJcAnYYFcvOJWjXPo1Zt0DTJ-5ZZYZ-BdEeID9-FSlowr_ZS230KHOFc7vnwbTHTyq9Jy/s400/IMG_7747.jpeg"/></a></div><br/>These notes can be donated directly to Harvest or The Scrapbook Cottage, a local scrapbook store. This was one of mine. <br/>I wanted to make a gift of a depth chart for a couple who love a particular lake in our province. West Hawk Lake is a part of their love story. To create this, I found a bathymetric map online of West Hawk Lake. I uploaded the map to Design Space and created cut files. It took some time to do all six layers. I sliced through each layer to create this and I used the write feature on my Cricut Maker to label the lake on the top layer. I love how it turned out and think it will look great in a frame.

I used a Design Space map of Canada and filled in all the cuts so I could use printed paper. I love how it turned out. I think you could use any kind of paper for this but I used a Creative Memories pack of Canada paper called Canadian Pride. The stickers are from the same fabulous collection. <br/>Please help yourself to the design.<br/><a href="https://design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/629f5d64bb26581858e561d2" target="_blank">Canada Day</a>

This month, I am running a little challenge group on Facebook to attempt a scrapbooking layout, card or any other crafty project per day in February. So far, I'm liking the pressure to complete all of those ideas and half-done scrapbooking layouts sitting on my desk.<br/>

I was trying to use Banff National Park as my inspiration. One animal commonly found animal in Banff is elk. I just love this circle image and think it would make a beautiful floating ornament. I was so impressed with how my Cricut Maker cut this intricate cut!<br/><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFY1wwM2NYFZWO0iisxZOHBm1oTUf4Xczd9aEd7S9l1xp8YVySazVe17h7OTcqjoX0z4uEZEEMXccq7tPYV0lYykk46Y54tUoKlUlKCXkqRFbbtqDouMgDwDvLpTPfO1g2ltoWKOzsSVKnX2NfTF8GMjFZ-dZ4nqVGtCyUN1byfxFrViKQ7N-yFcsuig/s3492/C42B0DF8-7C22-49AB-993F-3576BE041EFF.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="3492" data-original-width="2811" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFY1wwM2NYFZWO0iisxZOHBm1oTUf4Xczd9aEd7S9l1xp8YVySazVe17h7OTcqjoX0z4uEZEEMXccq7tPYV0lYykk46Y54tUoKlUlKCXkqRFbbtqDouMgDwDvLpTPfO1g2ltoWKOzsSVKnX2NfTF8GMjFZ-dZ4nqVGtCyUN1byfxFrViKQ7N-yFcsuig/s400/C42B0DF8-7C22-49AB-993F-3576BE041EFF.jpeg"/></a></div><br/>I cut out a circle in my base card just to add a bit of pop and heat embossed my sentiment for some shine. The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3115069303385519300.post-89422650340306742612022-12-07T15:03:00.000-06:002022-12-07T15:03:48.333-06:00Humbug - a Winnipeg Christmas Card<br/>This is very much a card for those who live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. One Christmas symbol that is iconic in our city is an apartment balcony with the word HUMBUG in red Christmas lights. I remember this from 40ish years ago and the tradition is still going strong with the new apartment dwellers in the building. (Was it written in the rental agreement??) For this card, I recreated the balcony by making a bridge style card. I found a lights-type of font online and cut the bottom layer in red glitter paper. I used acetate to secure the balcony railing to the side folds.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl09Z2T8RnMB8v8Lg6q2iBJoAlDAvbcygx-9YG1Rvad50-ZxjV7OQvC34SOkC_T1rTxhu4_vdNRRMonWpl7PN2bWljN4BOL9_tkaPkJhtZpVb_YpjWt8tQsjd6KJlc5FVt06ndyYnP-_yn-aZ6D89CQWBGroBoj0YwyKbYZ7YUs-fUz3iNjkEb_oUzDQ/s4032/73BEC1CD-DCB4-4426-9170-9F3B954DBE57.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgl09Z2T8RnMB8v8Lg6q2iBJoAlDAvbcygx-9YG1Rvad50-ZxjV7OQvC34SOkC_T1rTxhu4_vdNRRMonWpl7PN2bWljN4BOL9_tkaPkJhtZpVb_YpjWt8tQsjd6KJlc5FVt06ndyYnP-_yn-aZ6D89CQWBGroBoj0YwyKbYZ7YUs-fUz3iNjkEb_oUzDQ/s400/73BEC1CD-DCB4-4426-9170-9F3B954DBE57.jpeg"/></a></div><br/>Now... here's hoping people understand my card. The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3115069303385519300.post-86852814660959214282022-10-25T17:49:00.000-05:002022-10-25T17:49:37.488-05:00BOO Bear Halloween layout<br/>Our dog Chloe loves this stuffed bear that she got last Halloween from her grandma! This paper by Simple Stories is perfect for this layout because it already has the word BOO printed on it. I added the tag and cut BEAR out with my Cricut Maker. I had our daughter stitch on the tag for a bit of matching detail. I also cut out the spiderweb to add some spookiness.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOS7pUYG9_JwPwmu0YooPhyyyX-h9KF7Rj53XwewFJbm5Qu6zY2wG4jeXjQMvFBQRAU9BYLcGpEAqt6PurOTKrOrgGtF8kfHZBInIGvW0Y1ylqpfxRxHETsYuDOUhDrQMjplETgUK6MZRhjY2w4uyLk25Qze1wvr1oAeuvTwMyeVGz6jvpcentNPOR3A/s4032/D4D8387E-F209-4F94-AFB5-BAF4A7395E82.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOS7pUYG9_JwPwmu0YooPhyyyX-h9KF7Rj53XwewFJbm5Qu6zY2wG4jeXjQMvFBQRAU9BYLcGpEAqt6PurOTKrOrgGtF8kfHZBInIGvW0Y1ylqpfxRxHETsYuDOUhDrQMjplETgUK6MZRhjY2w4uyLk25Qze1wvr1oAeuvTwMyeVGz6jvpcentNPOR3A/s400/D4D8387E-F209-4F94-AFB5-BAF4A7395E82.jpeg"/></a></div><a href="https://cricut.pxf.io/c/3514579/1253600/15311?prodsku=2009582&u=https%3A%2F%2Fcricut.com%2Fen-us%2Fmaterials%2Fmaterial-type%2Fvinyl%2Fglow-in-the-dark%2Fglow-in-the-dark-vinyl-%25E2%2580%2593-removable%2F2009582.html&intsrc=PUI2_9491" target="_blank">Glow in the Dark Cricut Vinyl</a><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc4EYebGmedHl2NqV-lFy2yIMfY1OiNwBk_H4zVEU3MJlUeqs_BfsJbX9KX_8MO8w48XNbnN-tyWxtfuLcNcEr9zvp7viqHEl_VylqlKXRgpP6glYvE-SvY6H1qRjz5loj6nOhWepyrvr3Sc592D4axpi2bPbRr7yLJ8YL9swret-4d0fGtkUyevba5g/s770/pumpkin-sale-block.png" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="400" data-original-height="402" data-original-width="770" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc4EYebGmedHl2NqV-lFy2yIMfY1OiNwBk_H4zVEU3MJlUeqs_BfsJbX9KX_8MO8w48XNbnN-tyWxtfuLcNcEr9zvp7viqHEl_VylqlKXRgpP6glYvE-SvY6H1qRjz5loj6nOhWepyrvr3Sc592D4axpi2bPbRr7yLJ8YL9swret-4d0fGtkUyevba5g/s400/pumpkin-sale-block.png"/></a></div>The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3115069303385519300.post-30172234474762246702022-10-23T09:57:00.000-05:002022-10-23T09:57:10.807-05:00Zoom costume Halloween layout<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIhHiulCYVRu2BTHYQKPFqlzkb7eF6yUdXxwvQZR41lSGO0g1pysvKBZj07xCKuWVfl0t3dokUeDqPmOuk6cy9cSKYYFJlAcacZlQhVCaTyRmLCDER48MVbVvgRknp7olz7_gF-az2QXGBDdpb3ECh64MwinLYzx4jCNw5jFdwlPcAddrL9zqerDjY0g/s3583/A45727BF-399D-45E0-BB62-3855BAA2DA61.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="3583" data-original-width="3001" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIhHiulCYVRu2BTHYQKPFqlzkb7eF6yUdXxwvQZR41lSGO0g1pysvKBZj07xCKuWVfl0t3dokUeDqPmOuk6cy9cSKYYFJlAcacZlQhVCaTyRmLCDER48MVbVvgRknp7olz7_gF-az2QXGBDdpb3ECh64MwinLYzx4jCNw5jFdwlPcAddrL9zqerDjY0g/s400/A45727BF-399D-45E0-BB62-3855BAA2DA61.jpeg"/></a></div>Yes, I dressed up as a Zoom app page last year. We always visit every fall so I was so happy for her when she got hired there as her first job! I resisted taking a picture of her at work but took this one instead of her entering the store. For this layout, I used print and cut for the logo and I also journalled with a Cricut pen. I just love making Halloween scrapbook pages!<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilNmitCuTvvgjYCvbbumuOetSPT4rHytv__zGH-qRwv3NKEWTMnsY0RJe6t-yVvNUZgqRnpTEb_ygGrtZl4VKakJ2J_yFMwtKd3sMEGlHeq3U6dedZ4fg_P68huk7TFxUqk2b597v2SUz2PJ2Vb9mmm9JGaiakqzMl7TDUUjdRH2DQ6RG4XYDG1fHX5w/s3303/7558989A-14CE-4419-9068-885B5D655AFC.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="3303" data-original-width="3024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilNmitCuTvvgjYCvbbumuOetSPT4rHytv__zGH-qRwv3NKEWTMnsY0RJe6t-yVvNUZgqRnpTEb_ygGrtZl4VKakJ2J_yFMwtKd3sMEGlHeq3U6dedZ4fg_P68huk7TFxUqk2b597v2SUz2PJ2Vb9mmm9JGaiakqzMl7TDUUjdRH2DQ6RG4XYDG1fHX5w/s400/7558989A-14CE-4419-9068-885B5D655AFC.jpeg"/></a></div><a href="https://cricut.pxf.io/c/3514579/1473017/15311" target="_blank">Cricut Maker 3 bundle</a><br/><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqnGZ4KluIa9OoeNG1ImBZej7s66hLIE_937PXJuahZ6IsQ7kKovDKWkk5279KLbcSEYLxlmgPgs87_URMLlq_HJDQ6XYlknpn4ipQ-CNdM7_qWZNPwaFB82-t6GwQ_EeG0kJj0OmJTGFrMVGHTNlTFHoPwbpE2aiLVL3POk8Xta8zl_lHiSU7s_CFZA/s640/15311-1473017.jpeg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="400" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqnGZ4KluIa9OoeNG1ImBZej7s66hLIE_937PXJuahZ6IsQ7kKovDKWkk5279KLbcSEYLxlmgPgs87_URMLlq_HJDQ6XYlknpn4ipQ-CNdM7_qWZNPwaFB82-t6GwQ_EeG0kJj0OmJTGFrMVGHTNlTFHoPwbpE2aiLVL3POk8Xta8zl_lHiSU7s_CFZA/s400/15311-1473017.jpeg"/></a></div>The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3115069303385519300.post-67168387191093650202022-10-11T11:08:00.007-05:002022-10-12T14:38:27.464-05:00Spider Web Halloween layout<br/>For this layout, I used a Cricut file and cut it out with different patterned papers using my favourite Design Space functions - contour and offset. That was challenge number one. To cut out the letters on the front, I actually used the negative cut and just had to glue the insides of the letters. For the inside sentiment, I did a print and cut. Challenge number two is that the card needed room for up to <b>100 signatures</b> BUT it needed to be small as the wonderful recipient is moving across the country. To facilitate this, I made it a multiple page card, kind of like a mini album.
I love the end result and I hope she does too!

The hubs and I do. This is a fun card anyone could personalize especially if your Valentine's name or nickname has 5 letters. To make this card, I used a colouring image and created a SVG. Therefore, I don't have a file to share. I, then, mixed in some Cricut cuts from Design Space to make it a Christmas-y van.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiVIpCtJ5UiEgz_fBBnKgPxU6OGsd_Zs45j_VBGHpImQoeG_99B_SqW7hjDOHACD0Ph3pSYTTn-3xx8StJdmUbeSS-PYpCtIajeCatwc8ISU68VraltHYFjYVANEigHtTNfEKtF9-_cyufKQHK9FrPfuoMjV5RpgjU50OPrZELXzug0Y_LeDM4SVBPzYQ=s3544" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="3544" data-original-width="2993" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiVIpCtJ5UiEgz_fBBnKgPxU6OGsd_Zs45j_VBGHpImQoeG_99B_SqW7hjDOHACD0Ph3pSYTTn-3xx8StJdmUbeSS-PYpCtIajeCatwc8ISU68VraltHYFjYVANEigHtTNfEKtF9-_cyufKQHK9FrPfuoMjV5RpgjU50OPrZELXzug0Y_LeDM4SVBPzYQ=s400"/></a></div>The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3115069303385519300.post-33130641567232115282021-12-14T08:27:00.000-06:002021-12-14T08:27:26.754-06:00Day Two of Christmas Projects - Removable ornament<br/>It seems like the cards I made this year are even more personalized than past years, if that was even possible. I had the idea to make a card where the recipient could keep an ornament on their tree, if they wanted. I used the family's name and I layered the ornament with cardstock to give it some stability. I wanted to make it obvious that the ornament was removable, hence the scotch tape inside.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh4MlF5rDgWZA6DX8OWyqMcJAIwVOzdQAUv7x5m8mX9FHy0EcQ_erPkykgIp1wDifYS9EZ0ordG8sOlM8uTiCDF_q-XrFrFmz2sMpm9yHEyHZ2GxbO45YdR8kL8_hwsqpDFe4N8zMkrWr0is7OMb_CTPIfTPzOR_3VH41Zv0HeP2hoUOmFp-TrfBomHYg=s3737" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="3737" data-original-width="2827" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh4MlF5rDgWZA6DX8OWyqMcJAIwVOzdQAUv7x5m8mX9FHy0EcQ_erPkykgIp1wDifYS9EZ0ordG8sOlM8uTiCDF_q-XrFrFmz2sMpm9yHEyHZ2GxbO45YdR8kL8_hwsqpDFe4N8zMkrWr0is7OMb_CTPIfTPzOR_3VH41Zv0HeP2hoUOmFp-TrfBomHYg=s400"/></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh1mZZulRZ-0biprPbyjEa6uXF-bUzbkL6xLydDmaR2I-Kkny03GqwacoWcu4VH7OjjwM9cpBud1umyOXvqE6SFkO_i9HbwFUyQP5W6UCr2-yHUNM6keqdGfKGg-f_vuYs0tO7uifteSGzQpoveCmjc0b0WdUp44DXltFNNf7yY8-UmhVzA20NrmUODlg=s4032" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="400" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEh1mZZulRZ-0biprPbyjEa6uXF-bUzbkL6xLydDmaR2I-Kkny03GqwacoWcu4VH7OjjwM9cpBud1umyOXvqE6SFkO_i9HbwFUyQP5W6UCr2-yHUNM6keqdGfKGg-f_vuYs0tO7uifteSGzQpoveCmjc0b0WdUp44DXltFNNf7yY8-UmhVzA20NrmUODlg=s400"/></a></div>The Cropping Canuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06627063529908144328noreply@blogger.com0
