Another batch of lunchbox notes
I am really enjoying making lunchbox notes. This is an initiative through our provincial foodbank called Harvest Manitoba. These little notes will be included in future meals for children in need. Harvest Manitoba has requested 16 000 notes for the school year. I find it to be a quick, easy yet important project to do. I wanted to get some of these completed before June so they can be distributed this spring.
Over the summer, I will start a new batch and I challenge you to do the same!

Northern Lights Christmas Card
I absolutely love how this card turned out. The northern lights have been so beautiful this year! The black outline is a Cricut cut from Design Space. I sized it for a slimline card and added cardstock and glitter cardstock in all the negative spaces. The Santa in the sky is the only christmas-y element.

Camper Christmas Card
Friends of ours have recently renovated an older camping trailer. It looks fabulous and hope they will love it on a card!
Santa Mug Card
Is thete anything more Christmas iconic than a Santa mug? I love them and they are quite popular right now. i found this cut file on Design Space and there are many options including snowmen, gingerbreadmen and elf cups.
I found this retro looking sentiment also on Dedign Space and thought it matched the kitschy mug.

Children's inspirational notes for Harvest Manitoba
One of my local food banks called Harvest Manitoba gives meals to children in need every Friday during the school year so they have food on the weekends. Along with the food, they give each child an inspirational note. This program, called Meals2Go requires approximately 16 000 notes for the year. I realized that I could easily make some notes to donate. I have now made a conscious effort to use the scrap paper sitting on my desk to make a note or 2 or 3.
These notes can be donated directly to Harvest or The Scrapbook Cottage, a local scrapbook store. This is a win-win. I get to play with paper and contribute to this amazing program!

Bathymetric map
Anyone else have unfinished projects from many years ago? This was one of mine.
I wanted to make a gift of a depth chart for a couple who love a particular lake in our province. West Hawk Lake is a part of their love story. To create this, I found a bathymetric map online of West Hawk Lake. I uploaded the map to Design Space and created cut files. It took some time to do all six layers. I sliced through each layer to create this and I used the write feature on my Cricut Maker to label the lake on the top layer. I love how it turned out and think it will look great in a frame. Has anyone made a project like this in wood?

Happy Canada Day 2023!
I love Canada Day and I love using my Cricut Maker. I used a Design Space map of Canada and filled in all the cuts so I could use printed paper. I love how it turned out. I think you could use any kind of paper for this but I used a Creative Memories pack of Canada paper called Canadian Pride. The stickers are from the same fabulous collection.
Please help yourself to the design.

February challenge
Hello and welcome! This month, I am running a little challenge group on Facebook to attempt a scrapbooking layout, card or any other crafty project per day in February. So far, I'm liking the pressure to complete all of those ideas and half-done scrapbooking layouts sitting on my desk.
Anyone else interested in joining?

Personalized lantern cards
I really enjoy making Christmas cards that are more personal than ones you buy in a store. I love that with my Cricut and a printer I can easily do that. Last year, I made paper ornaments. This year, family names on a lantern.
I also LOVE seeing my paper ornaments on my friends and family's Christmas trees! It warms my crafty heart.

Elk Christmas Card
I wanted to create some nature-type Christmas cards this year. I was trying to use Banff National Park as my inspiration. One animal commonly found animal in Banff is elk. I just love this circle image and think it would make a beautiful floating ornament. I was so impressed with how my Cricut Maker cut this intricate cut!
I cut out a circle in my base card just to add a bit of pop and heat embossed my sentiment for some shine.

Humbug - a Winnipeg Christmas Card
This is very much a card for those who live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. One Christmas symbol that is iconic in our city is an apartment balcony with the word HUMBUG in red Christmas lights. I remember this from 40ish years ago and the tradition is still going strong with the new apartment dwellers in the building. (Was it written in the rental agreement??) For this card, I recreated the balcony by making a bridge style card. I found a lights-type of font online and cut the bottom layer in red glitter paper. I used acetate to secure the balcony railing to the side folds.
Now... here's hoping people understand my card.

BOO Bear Halloween layout
Our dog Chloe loves this stuffed bear that she got last Halloween from her grandma! This paper by Simple Stories is perfect for this layout because it already has the word BOO printed on it. I added the tag and cut BEAR out with my Cricut Maker. I had our daughter stitch on the tag for a bit of matching detail. I also cut out the spiderweb to add some spookiness.Glow in the Dark Cricut Vinyl

Haunted Halloween layout
Our daughter loves the store Spirit Halloween. We always visit every fall so I was so happy for her when she got hired there as her first job! I resisted taking a picture of her at work but took this one instead of her entering the store. For this layout, I used print and cut for the logo and I also journalled with a Cricut pen. I just love making Halloween scrapbook pages!Cricut Maker 3 bundle

Spider Web Halloween layout
For this layout, I used a Cricut file and cut it out with different patterned papers using my favourite Design Space functions - contour and offset. I enlisted our daughter to stitch a bit on the paper for an added detail.

Some people make your life better card
I was asked to make a card with these sentiments on the front and in the inside. That was challenge number one. To cut out the letters on the front, I actually used the negative cut and just had to glue the insides of the letters. For the inside sentiment, I did a print and cut. Challenge number two is that the card needed room for up to 100 signatures BUT it needed to be small as the wonderful recipient is moving across the country. To facilitate this, I made it a multiple page card, kind of like a mini album. I love the end result and I hope she does too!

I love celebrating graduations! This year we have a few in our family and I am more than happy to make them cards. Here is my Design Space file for this side-edge square card I created.
