BOO Bear Halloween layout
Our dog Chloe loves this stuffed bear that she got last Halloween from her grandma! This paper by Simple Stories is perfect for this layout because it already has the word BOO printed on it. I added the tag and cut BEAR out with my Cricut Maker. I had our daughter stitch on the tag for a bit of matching detail. I also cut out the spiderweb to add some spookiness.Glow in the Dark Cricut Vinyl

Zoom costume Halloween layout
Yes, I dressed up as a Zoom app page last year. Our Zumba Halloween party was virtual so I figured it would be funny.

Haunted Halloween layout
Our daughter loves the store Spirit Halloween. We always visit every fall so I was so happy for her when she got hired there as her first job! I resisted taking a picture of her at work but took this one instead of her entering the store. For this layout, I used print and cut for the logo and I also journalled with a Cricut pen. I just love making Halloween scrapbook pages!Cricut Maker 3 bundle

Spider Web Halloween layout
For this layout, I used a Cricut file and cut it out with different patterned papers using my favourite Design Space functions - contour and offset. I enlisted our daughter to stitch a bit on the paper for an added detail.

Mad Scientist layout
Our Halloween Zumba class was a blast last year! It's my favourite class of the year because the ladies dress up in fabulous costumes. We didn't take any group photos in 2020 because we were physically distancing though. I did take a selfie of my own costume. I printed off my mad scientist name tag and then laminated it so it looked more official. (Love my laminator)
I designed this file on Design Space. Help yourself!

I think is the first time I have used googly eyes on a layout!

Pandemic Pumpkin
I love this jack-o-lantern our daughter carved last year! She used clementines for the family and I cut up a disposable mask for their face-coverings.
I created this cut file in Design space including the title.
Here is the file.

Our Haunted Home
So, this is a layout about the decor in our home in October. Every October, our daughter pulls out the Halloween bin and decorates the house. She loves this task and I adore seeing what she comes up with. One day, when our kids are older with their own families, I hope they remember the fun we had at Halloween.

Pumpkin Carving 2019
I always need to scrapbook the kids' pumpkin creations! For this layout, I cut a bunch of different pumpkins in a variety of orange scraps of paper.

Pup-kin Spice
It's a good thing Chloe likes wearing costumes, well doesn't mind wearing costumes. This layout is pretty simple, all I did was leave out the letter M from a Cricut cut for the title.

Shopping at Spirit Halloween
It's an annual tradition for us! The pattern paper is by Close To My Heart with the best zip strip ever with Halloween sentiments! Zip strip is the bit on the edge of a loose paper for identifying the product name and number. Some companies take advantage of this and create patterns that papercrafters can use. Most companies just show what is on the other side.

Zumba Halloween Party layout
I have been busy this week scrapbooking pictures from Halloween 2019. The zumba ladies wore the best costumes for our class last year AND they danced in them!

Pumpkin Carving 2017
Yay! October is here! I love Halloween!
Look closely at this layout. Notice anything?
There are no Cricut cuts. How did that happen???

Halloween 2014
I am one of those Moms who loves to make Halloween crafts, costumes, carve pumpkins and make scary meals. My kids never know what to expect in October...
Here is a simple layout of some of the spooky food we ate last October.

Cricut Halloween costumes
I really do use my Cricut machines for everything including Halloween costumes!
This year my daughter is dressing up as a tardis (time travelling phone booth) from the show Doctor Who. I still need to laminate the poster board (in case of rain) and attach shoulder straps.
Last year my son went as a nuclear reactor worker. We bought an inexpensive painting suit and I used vinyl for the lettering and symbols.
I love that I designed these costumes with my kids! An added bonus is that you can create costumes large enough for a winter coat to go underneath. (Often necessary here.)

Gypsy linking to Cricut Craft Room
I did it! I linked my Gypsy to the Cricut Craft Room. I did this mainly for two reasons.
Reason number 1 - though I LOVE my Gypsy, it doesn't always update well. I have had issues such as a "security breach", the "blue screen of death", a cartridge that refuses to link and the occasional scrambling of a welded item. I figured it would be best to link all of my cartridges to the Craft Room just in case my Gypsy no longer works. I admit that I haven't really been purchasing new cartridges for the fear that they will be lost.
Reason number 2 - free cut files and free cartridges offered weekly in the Cricut Craft Room. I just couldn't resist the Halloween cuts!
This week the free cartridges are Teresa Collins Chic and Scary and A Frightful Affair. All of the cuts on this layout are from Teresa Collins Chic and Scary other than the "2012" which is from Blackletter.
I will talk a bit more about my linking experience in a post tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween 2012
Yay! The Halloween season is here! It's my favorite holiday. Here is a layout of my kids and their Halloween shirts from last year.
I love this white, orange and black twine I bought at my LSS. I will have to use it on some Halloween cards.

Using up my Halloween scraps
I confess, I love Halloween paper! I just bought a brand new stack and soooo I thought I would try and make some things with all my little bits of scraps from previous Halloween projects. Here are two of my attempts ...
This is a quick centrepiece to make. Just cut your scraps in strips, ink the edges and use a brad to attach them. I added a bit of ribbon and hand cut some stems.
This is a little thank you gift for my neighbour. Even the embossed paper was a scrap!

Halloween ghouls 2010
For this layout, I used a few different Cricut cartridges. The haunted house and pumpkin are from Holiday Cakes. The bats are from Wild Card, the ghoul is from Mini Monsters but I only cut out two of the layers. The trick or treat bag is from Mickey and Friends.I used Glossy accents on the scary eyes and the scythe. I also used many pop dots and ink for dimension.
This is actually a double layout. I loved using the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge to recreate my children's costumes.

My first altered item
For my very first design team assignment for Scrapbooking by Design, I had to alter an item chosen by the owner Nicole.
For me, she chose this clock purchased at a thrift store.
Don't worry this clock was not an antique, in fact it is plastic and non-working.
I couldn't help myself but make a Halloween creation! I just thought the shape of the clock reminded me of an old scary haunted house.
The first thing I did was spray paint the clock black with a matte decor paint. I didn't worry about doing a perfect job knowing it would be covered in paper. I mostly used the Happy Hauntings and October 31st Cricut cartridges for this project. The door is from the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. Some things I just cut out on my own, like for instance the chimney. Everything is inked and chalked to look spooky and old. I embossed the brown paper around the house to look like wood just using my scoring blade every half inch. The tree is a fabulous cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge. I cut out the two layers twice to stiffen up the cardstock and keep it standing.
I love these two papers on the back. One is by Authentique and the other (the orange background one) is by Echo Park. I added some extras Cricut cuts to the scene and also some Glossy Accents to them as well.
I think I can create a cool display with this "clock" on my mantel for Halloween!
