Winter Olympics 2018

Why not use your die-cutting machine to create some olympic decor? Cricut has a digital mini-cartridge called International Winter Sports. Here is a banner I created to decorate our mantel as well as feature our puppy Chloe. Lol.

We are planning to host some olympic viewing parties this week so hopefully I can make more projects!

Day four of Christmas Projects - Team Canada Mittens Card

Our family still loves our Team Canada mittens so I thought they would be cute on a holiday card.

This card was quick to put together so I think it will be one to mass produce. I used a sentiment that would be appropriate for all even those who do not celebrate Christmas.

#We Are Winter Olympics layout

We love the winter olympics! I hope the hubs doesn't mind that I repurposed his valentine for this layout.

The printed paper is from Michaels. The brand is Paper House Productions.

Much thanks to Char for the missing letter "r" to finish this one.

Olympic Excitement

Yikes! I have been an absent blogger this month. I have barely scrapped a thing at all. We have been too busy with a family wedding, a trip to the lake and time in the swimming pool. On the plus side, I will have tons of photos to scrap in the fall!

The London Games have just begun, my husband is watching the opening ceremonies. This just makes me reflect back two years. In 2010, our family was completely caught up in olympic fever! Canada was hosting and we felt part of it all. I took my kids one COLD morning and we got to see the torch run. This moment was amazing! I will never forget it and I am so glad we went. It was so cold that my camera had trouble taking the photos.

Later that day, we were able to hold a used torch from the run!

See the soot.

I also took my kids to The Royal Canadian Mint, where they had the olympic medals on display.

Of course, our family had an olympic celebration at our home! Each family member chose a food that they thought would fit the theme. My son chose onion rings.

Good luck to all the athletes! I wish everyone all the best during these games no matter what country you are cheering for!

Olympic Torch Relay

I wanted to post this layout today because the 2010 Olympics open in a few hours. My children and I went on a super cold morning to watch the olympic torch pass through our town. As we stood there, trying to keep warm, we were all amazed with the spirit of the torch relay. I am so glad we ventured out to see this. I am so thankful, I could share this moment with my kids!

For this layout, I used my Cricut to cut out the die cuts. The inukshuk is cut from the George cartridge and I trimmed the shapes to look more like the actual logo. The word Vancouver is cut from the Don Juan cartridge with the real dial size on. (I am convinced the Don Juan is the actual font used by the 2010 olympics.) I used the From My Kitchen cartridge for the very first time to cut out the word degrees.

Sorry for blurred faces.
