Card ideas for Dad's Day

Last July, our family visited the Terry Fox travelling museum exhibit in Victoria, British Columbia. The exhibit was moving and inspirational. Our tour guide at the museum was the cousin of Terry Fox, which made the displays so very personal. I knew I needed to include this day in our family scrapbooks!

Learn from my mistakes. When you cut this fabulous map of Canada, (from the Go Canada Cricut cartridge) use the negative image! There are alot of tiny islands in the North. I learnt this the hard way.

The maple leaf paper and stickers are from a paper pack by Photo Play Paper called Oh Canada. Love it!!!

Winnipeg Jets Playoff Banner

The Winnipeg Jets fans are known for their Whiteout during the playoffs. Therefore, I knew this wasn’t going to the a colourful banner. (Yes, that’s a goal horn on my mantle.) This project was super quick to create!

It has been years since I made a project using print and cut with my Cricut Explore. I even had to calibrate my machine! I am very impressed with the updates to this feature. The registration marks are different and the cut was so precise. I definitely need to use this awesome feature more often. It worked so well to print the whiteout logo rather than try and cut out all the tiny parts.

Design Space 3 - DS3

Woohoo! Design Space 3 launched a beta version on Wednesday night. On Thursday, I thought why not play a bit and check it out. I am so impressed.

In February, I decided that I should broaden my Cricut Explore horizons and start creating my own shareable cut files. Sharable cut files could increase traffic to my blog after all. My very first project was a St. Patrick's Day design for a scrapbooking layout. As my design became more intricate, my Design Space 2 slowed down and eventually crashed and crashed and crashed. I laughed about this failed venture with my husband and moved on.

Thursday afternoon with my brand-spanking new Design Space 3, I finished the file. The program ran super smoothly with no issues at all. I also love having more letters displayed with each font option! It makes choosing the perfect font quicker and easier!
