Canada Day layout

Where did I get inspiration for this layout???? Well, my dog’s bandanna, of course! That’s what so great about creating with Design Space is that you can cut anything you dream up, even the dog’s bandanna.

Happy Canada Day!

Canada-themed scrapbooking products 2019

Every June, I try and source out Canada Day scrapbooking supplies. Well, and buy them of course!

This is CTMH digital Cricut cartridge featuring the canadian provinces. My consultant is Brandy Lees

This is Great Escape Paper Pack by Creative Memories. My consultant is Shaila.

I also found some new Cricut images this year and a new cartridge! The cartridge is called Fell - Canada and I love it! There is finally a cut for the CN Tower and Niagara Falls! Too bad I already scrapbooked our Toronto trip.

Hopefully, this helps a bit and maybe provides some creative inspiration.

Happy Paw-ther’s Day from the dog

Yep, I made a Father’s Day card from the dog. The sentiment inside will be “Thanks for picking up my poop.”

All of these cuts are in Design Space and all are part of my Access Subscription. I used text to write the sentiment though.

Winnipeg Jets playoff layout

So, the Winnipeg Jets 2019 playoff run was too short but our family had fun while it lasted. We ironed on HTV and created customized t-shirts to go to games and I made a banner to decorate the family room for hosting viewing parties.

I had this ice surface design in my head for months before I finally created it. This design would be super easy to create for any hockey team. You can just cut a team logo in half over the red line. The toughest part was slicing in all the jet planes.

Summer is coming, right??? I’m longing for the warm days on the deck when I see these pictures.

Last summer, a friend had a dog rescue fundraiser by selling pup-sicles. Her rescue is called Central Paws Dog Rescue (Winnipeg, MB) and they made popsicles that were meat or yogurt based. Chloe loved them and I hope they sell them again!

Most of the paper on this layout is older Bella Blvd. The paw print paper is by Recollections. I bought a grab bag of paper and scored lots of Bella Blvd! I have loved using it. The patterns are bright, bold and versatile.

I’m still in awe of Doodlebug Design Inc taking on the production and sales of Bella Blvd while the owner and creative director recovers from a brain tumour.

Prepping for a crop

I love getting together with my scrapbook friends for a crop. I usually go once a month to a local community club. I pack my supplies, lunch and a snack to share. I find it really helps me catch up with my scrapbooking layouts if I attend once a month. I find I am most productive when I have prepped some layout kits. I print my photos, choose my papers, cut out all my Cricut cuts (sometimes in more than one size or colour). I put all the above in a bag and then bring all the bags with me. The bags I use are the plastic bags that hold paper packs, they usually have a resealable closure and work quite well. You can also purchase extra large ziploc bags that are large enough for a 12x12 inch layout (33 x 38.1 cms) in a box of 10. You can find them at Walmart or Canadian Tire in Canada.

Dollartree also sells this more economical pack of 5 zipped bags for $1.25 in Canada. The bag dimensions are 14 3/8 x 16 inches (36.5 x 40.6 cms)

When I don’t do this, I tend to spend WAY too much time trying to match paper and organize my layouts often missing something that is at home in my craft room. Another plus to doing this is, prepping kits makes for a much smaller load of supplies needing to be transported to a crop. I no longer look like I am moving houses with all my paper supplies.
I still always bring my Explore and bring extra paper, just in case.

Pop-Up Cactus Valentine Cards - Design Space file included

Our daughter loves succulent plants so I knew I wanted to make cactus pun valentines this year! These cards are for the kids and the hubs.

I have wanted to start creating and sharing files with my Scrappy Explore Peeps. I have been using shared files quite a bit recently and appreciate all the work that goes into making them. *Trumpets blaring* My first file.

All of these cuts are from my Access Subscription. The sun is different in the file because I accidentally used a licensed image.

Playing with vinyl

I love how vinyl can quickly personalize so many things. We have new shelves in our family room that I am trying to create a decor element with. So far, I made this canvas.

This Christmas, I made a few gifts for friends including these wine glasses. The glasses were purchased from IKEA and my friend chose the sayings.

I honestly like them so much, I may make more for me!
