Mother’s Day 2018

Here is my Mother’s Day card for this year! I made three almost identical cards for the moms. I love making this style of card. It is quite simple to fold up and the z fold adds some nice dimension. This style card is perfect to mail as it folds flat and mine are the standard A2 size. No special envelope needed.

I am entering this card at Paper Garden. They are sponsoring a Mother’s Day card making contest. All of the solid colour paper on my card is from Paper Garden. These photos do not do justice for how beautiful the paper is. The contest is open until May the 10th so you have plenty of time to submit your own design. Here are all the entries for you to get some card making inspiration.

If you are not entering a design why not vote for your favourite?

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Mother's Day Cards over the years

Apparently, my theme for Mother's Day cards is flowers - so many flowers!

I didn't realize that I always used flowers and often the colour yellow until just now!

Mother's Day shaker card

I just love making shaker cards! I love choosing an image in my Design Space (I have soo many options with my access subscription) slicing it and turning the image into a shaker card.

Thanks for stopping in today!

I have linked this card at Die-Cuttin Divas. They are hosting a Mother's Day/Feminine challenge.

Happy Mother's Day 2016

I'm happy to say I was chosen to enter a Mother's Day card challenge for the The Paper Garden. They specialize in beautiful papers for special occasions.
I made this card using the cardstock The Paper Garden sent me. This paper is nice and thick! I actually had to change the setting to a heavier paper on my Cricut Explore to cut it.

I wanted to design a garden for my card.

*You know, a paper garden.*

I have never actually made my own cut file for a box card. I started by welding four bits of fencing together and then added score lines for my score pen. The fence cut is from the Cricut cartridge The First Few Years. I then cut out a thin rectangle to hold my flowers in place. This was my first attempt creating a box card from scratch, now, I want to make more with different plants and flowers, a gnome and a garden sign. Maybe, after Mother's Day...

Here is the link so that you can also enter this Mother's day card challenge or so that you can vote for your favourite card.

Thank you for popping by my blog and The Paper Garden. Have a great weekend!

Mother's Day Cards 2015

Good Day! I am having fun this week playing with the Design Space program. There are many great Make It Now Mother's Day projects.

The card below is very similar to the example they provide on Design Space. I thought it would be a great "mailable" card for my grandmother who loves daisies.

Mother's Day Cards

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!

I think I have used every teeny, tiny scrap left of my crop and create kit.

If you are expecting a Mother's Day card from me don't read this post

This card is to enter at Fantabulous Cricut. Their challenge this week is to use at least three flowers on a project.

This card is not original for sure. I have seen a few variations of flowers in a vase this week. The watering can is from the Freshly Picked Cricut cartridge and the sentiment is from Holiday Cakes. The flowers are from Plantin Schoolbook but many, many cartridges have similar flowers you could use.. The flowers have been embossed with the Polka Dots folder and I used glue dots to adhere the buttons. The stems are rick rack ribbon.

I will warn you though that this type of card requires 3 times the postage because of the pop dots and buttons!

Odds and ends

My husband enjoys making wine and every year we go to a wine tasting party. I made these tags so that everyone will know our wine even when they pull it off their rack months from now. I invented a fictional winery name playing on our family name and neighbourhood just to be funny. The barrel is from the Old West cartridge and the font is from Blackletter.

This is a birthday card for an 11 year old snowboard enthusiast. This was my first cut with the Dude Cricut cartridge. I'm so glad I bought it for my son's cards and such.

On Friday, I got to host a ladies group at my house to teach a beginner card-making class. This is the sample card we made. I used Freshly Picked for the potted flowers and Holiday Cakes for the sentiment. I had fun and I hope they did too.
