Hello scrapbook room!
Oh, how I have missed you! I think a sign of a good summer with my family is the lack of blog posts. The summer was quite busy but great. It seems like yesterday, I made this. I hung a banner and streamers from our gazebo for the kids to run through. I found this idea online (and loved it) but forgot to pin it. Outside of the gazebo, I placed a "summer" gift. The gift was an assortment of goodies such as pool toys and movie passes.
Now the kids have gone back to school and I now have some time to myself to create. Yippee! I am excited to catch up a bit in my scrapbook albums and I hope to have many blog posts coming soon.

Teacher Appreciation Week
It is staff appreciation week at my daughter's school. I love making these bulletin boards for the staff to show how much we appreciate their hard work!
I am entering this project at Cooking with Cricut. Their challenge this week is to make a teacher appreciation project with your Cricut.
I had trouble this year thinking of ideas but I did find this title and jungle idea online at Artsy Fartsy Mama.
Most of these wild animals are from The Create A Critter Cricut cartridge. The toucan is from Life is a Beach. The font is Birthday Bash. I picked up large google eyes and tried to make this board fun and bright. (This school is Kindergarten to Grade Four.) I braided jute as my "vines". The paw prints are from Mickey and Friends and they have the name of each school staff member. While I had a desk covered in this paper, I whipped up a matching card for the staff with scraps. Yay!
I hope they like it!

Winnipeg Jets hockey party projects
Yesterday, we celebrated my son's 11th birthday with his friends. Here are some of the party things my husband and I made. For the party, my son had his friends over to watch the very first Winnipeg Jets (former Atlanta) game on tv.
The banner was super quick to make with leftover invitation pieces and the Birthday Bash Cricut cartridge.
The cake by my husband. This was his first experience with royal icing. I think he did a great job!
These are the invitations that I already posted.
The mantel all ready for the puck drop!
I made the lootbags with the Sports Mania Cricut cartridge. The skates are laced with floss and the blades are cut with metallic paper. These things were all fun to make!

Canada Blog Hop + candy
Welcome to the CANADA DAY Blog Hop hosted by Tara & Jacqueline! If you are here from Michelle , then you are in the right spot. If you would like to start at the beginning please click here In honour of Canada Day ,we are all making a project with a Canadian theme!
Our family loves celebrating Canada Day! We always take pictures in our Canada shirts. For this layout, I used scraps of Canada printed paper by Around the Block. I used my Gypsy to cut the large maple leaf and the large stamp shape from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge. The banner cuts are all from Birthday Bash. I just love the font and banner features on that cartridge. The Canada tag is from Destinations, I added some Gloss to the leaf to jazz it up a bit.

Crazy about Cricut Birthday challenge
Omgoodness I could not pass up this challenge at Crazy about Cricut! The prize is a Cricut Everyday cartridge (exclusive to circle members). This challenge is perfect for this week as a very good friend is celebrating a birthday.
My friend loves the beach and the color orange. I knew I needed to incorporate both of these things in her card. Most of these cuts are from the Life's a Beach cartridge. The sentiment is from the Birthday Bash cartridge. The sand is inked and the palm tree is embossed using my bone folder.
I used my Gypsy to weld the palm tree to a rectangle and that way the card could fold over 2 ways.
I need to add a shout out to Carri. I made this card and then could not remember the blog with the challenge. She kindly gave me the address.
