Bathymetric map

Anyone else have unfinished projects from many years ago? This was one of mine.
I wanted to make a gift of a depth chart for a couple who love a particular lake in our province. West Hawk Lake is a part of their love story. To create this, I found a bathymetric map online of West Hawk Lake. I uploaded the map to Design Space and created cut files. It took some time to do all six layers. I sliced through each layer to create this and I used the write feature on my Cricut Maker to label the lake on the top layer. I love how it turned out and think it will look great in a frame.
Has anyone made a project like this in wood?

Graduation 2021 - side edge card with Design Space file

I just love using the new offset feature to create this style of card called a side-edge card. In fact, I am a big fan of all the new updates to Cricut Design Space that have come out in the past few weeks. I have just over a thousand Design Space files saved in all my years of using an Explore. (EEK! I know, so many.) Therefore, being able to group my files in themes or purpose has been fabulous! Everytime I sit down at my desktop I do a bit of grouping of my many files. For example, this card will be added to my collection of graduation cards. Grouping them this way makes it so much easier to find what I am looking for even if it's years later. I will often replicate a design and therefore it's nice not having to hunt and scroll.
Cricut Access Premium

If you would like to make one of these cards, please help yourself to my file. The file uses cuts from my Access Subscription. I do recommend having a Cricut subscription as it gives you endless options that are always being updated and added to. I also appreciate the timely cuts that are added like the COVID-19 designs.

Day Five of Christmas Projects - Holly Jolly

I love the clean lines of this style of a card. A local scrapbooking store posted a card sketch this fall for a challenge and I designed similar shapes on Design Space.

Day Three of Christmas Projects - Tea Towels

I love using heat transfer vinyl on flour sack tea towels. I think it's a great little gift. My sister-in-law is a talented baker who loves to bake and decorate Christmas cookies every year so these are for her.

Both designs are available in Design Space.

Happy Valentines Day!

Don't forget to take a photo of your true loves this Valentines Day! Here is a layout of one of mine, our rescue dog Chloe. I love how you can create anything with Design Space even a dog cookie!

Wishing you and yours a "love"ly day!

Day Ten of Christmas Projects - A Winnipeg Card

I love making exactly the type of card I want by using the Design Space app to design my cuts.

If you are not from Winnipeg, this is the Golden Boy who stands at the top of our Manitoba Legislature. He turned 100 last week! I figure our city often looks like a snow globe so this is fitting! I used my laminator again to make the shaker card window with some snowflake confetti.

Day Two of Christmas Projects - Warm Wishes Coffee Card

I actually considered waiting until Starbucks released their holiday cup designs before I made these cards. I love the added touch of the corrugated cup wrap on these cards. The stamped sentiment is from CTMH.

Here are my two design space files for the oval card and coffee cup.

Day One of Christmas Projects - Nordic Gnome Card

I couldn’t find a gnome in Design Space to my liking so I designed one myself. This style of gnome seems very popular this year in Christmas decor and I just think they are adorable!

Here is my file if you are interested.

Canada-themed scrapbooking products 2019

Every June, I try and source out Canada Day scrapbooking supplies. Well, and buy them of course!

This is CTMH digital Cricut cartridge featuring the canadian provinces. My consultant is Brandy Lees

This is Great Escape Paper Pack by Creative Memories. My consultant is Shaila.

I also found some new Cricut images this year and a new cartridge! The cartridge is called Fell - Canada and I love it! There is finally a cut for the CN Tower and Niagara Falls! Too bad I already scrapbooked our Toronto trip.

Hopefully, this helps a bit and maybe provides some creative inspiration.

Winnipeg Jets playoff layout

So, the Winnipeg Jets 2019 playoff run was too short but our family had fun while it lasted. We ironed on HTV and created customized t-shirts to go to games and I made a banner to decorate the family room for hosting viewing parties.

I had this ice surface design in my head for months before I finally created it. This design would be super easy to create for any hockey team. You can just cut a team logo in half over the red line. The toughest part was slicing in all the jet planes.

Pop-Up Cactus Valentine Cards - Design Space file included

Our daughter loves succulent plants so I knew I wanted to make cactus pun valentines this year! These cards are for the kids and the hubs.

I have wanted to start creating and sharing files with my Scrappy Explore Peeps. I have been using shared files quite a bit recently and appreciate all the work that goes into making them. *Trumpets blaring* My first file.

All of these cuts are from my Access Subscription. The sun is different in the file because I accidentally used a licensed image.

Making a knockout using Design Space

Last week, I saw a video tutorial on Facebook on how to do a knockout using the slice feature on Design Space. It looked pretty simple to do and IT WAS. I love how easy and neat this technique is. It is just a matter of placing the image over your text, slicing, removing the unwanted bits and then changing the colour of your initial slice. What I learned was, if you are using cuts that are small and finicky it's better to cut them larger. This is an A2 sized card and I had trouble glueing my hockey player so don't look too closely.

I need to make more cards using this technique.

Happy birthday window card

I would like to create some shadow box card files in Design Space for the upcoming card-making holiday season. This was my first step, a window card.

This card is for our daughter's 16th birthday which we celebrated in Toronto, Ontario and visited the CN Tower. (There are CN Tower free SVGs posted online for personal use.)

Happy Canada Day 2018!

Welcome to my blog! I love spending Canada Day with my family! I'm THAT Mom that insists on matching shirts, photo ops and then scrapbooking them. Here is one such layout using the We Love Canada cuts on Design Space and the Oh Canada paper.

This layout actually started a few weeks ago, my daughter needed a large maple leaf cut out of paper for a school project. I kept the paper scraps or the negative image thinking maybe I could use it. (Anyone else do this? In my defence, it was nice cardstock...)

Have a wonderful day in Canada or elsewhere in the world!

Canada Day scrapbooking supplies 2018, eh

I am so excited to report this year that there are some new fabulous scrapbooking supplies to commemorate Canada Day! First up, I was playing on Design Space today and look what I found! A new cartridge called We Love Canada! There are only ten images but they are all great. It is included with my Access membership but I am assuming it's free for all next week.

Grab your Cricut and get cutting! Wouldn't these images be great on t-shirts for your family?

There are also 25 free Canada Day cuts on the LOVESVG website.

The next products are from Photo Play Paper Co designed by the talented Becky Fleck. There is a paper pack.

There are stickers, diecuts, stamps and matching dies.

So many great scrappy options this year! Be sure to celebrate our great nation, get out your phones, take some pictures on Canada Day and scrap 'em.

It's two days before Father's Day and I have yet to make a card for the hubs. Maybe you are in the same boat and would like some inspiration?

Easter Peep Card

Making an Easter Peep is super easy. All I did was weld two circles and two ovals in the shape of a the marshmallow treat. Do you have a Peep-loving friend this Easter?

Easter card

I seem to have just realized that Easter is coming up quite quickly this year. (Good Friday is March the 30th.)

The pretty eggs and card base are both in Design Space. I just added the sentiment and layers. "Hoppy" is text written with the write feature and a simple thin Crayola marker.

Are you creating Easter cards this year?
