Visiting the Terry Fox exhibit
My layout today is in preparation for Canada Day scrapbooking. It's a warm-up per say...
Last July, our family visited the Terry Fox travelling museum exhibit in Victoria, British Columbia. The exhibit was moving and inspirational. Our tour guide at the museum was the cousin of Terry Fox, which made the displays so very personal. I knew I needed to include this day in our family scrapbooks!
Learn from my mistakes. When you cut this fabulous map of Canada, (from the Go Canada Cricut cartridge) use the negative image! There are alot of tiny islands in the North. I learnt this the hard way.
This SVG of Terry Fox is available for FREE to promote Terry and his "message of courage and hope" on his website.

The maple leaf paper and stickers are from a paper pack by Photo Play Paper called Oh Canada. Love it!!!

Two more Canada Day layouts!
I hope you all had a wonderful day celebrating Canada's 150th birthday! I hope you took lots of photos because I have two more ideas for how to scrapbook your memories.
This image is the logo for Canada Day 2017. I found the cut file for free on the Government of Canada website. Here is the link. I changed it up a bit by using patterned paper scraps.
Yesterday, these two (!!) layouts were featured on the Scrapbook & cards today blog as part of their celebration of Canada. I was thrilled to have my work featured. My kids were thrilled that our dog Chloe's picture was featured...
Here is the link to the blog post of Canada Day projects, including mine.

Happy Canada Day 2017!
Yay! July first is finally here! The kids are done their school year and the hubs as well! We are planning to spend the day enjoying a block party with our neighbours.
Making Canada Day themed pocket pages is quick and easy. I used white, red and black cardstock. No need to try and find "Canada" paper. I mostly used cuts from the Go Canada Cricut cartridge. The heartbeat is a file shared on Cricut Crafters Canada Facebook group created by Karin Adamczyk.
Celebrate today, take pictures with your loved ones and then create a wonderful scrapbook page.

Happy Canada Day 2016!
Happy Canada Day!
Isn't this a great cut from the Word Collage Cricut cartridge? I used the negative image thinking it might be easier to adhere in a straight line.
Did you guys hear the good news? I was thrilled when Cricut announced flat rate shipping of $14.99 to Canada with a minimum purchase of $75 in May. But.... even better, they lowered the minimum purchase to $50!!! This is amazing! In the past, I have put Cuttlebug folders (just Cuttlebug folders) in my shopping cart at Cricut.com and my potential shipping charges were $38. So glad those days are over. I feel Cricut is making a genuine effort to accommodate Canadian customers and I like it.

Downhill ski layout with help from a sketch
This layout is of my son taking a downhill ski lesson. He was nervous about the whole barreling down a mountain/hill on skis thing... So we paid for private lessons for both kids. At the end of the day, it was worth every penny. They went from scared to confident and I have the pictures to prove it. The pictures turned out nicely even though they are from a cell phone. I accidentally brought an empty camera bag to the ski hill that day. *smacking head*
In trying to catch up on scrapbooking layouts, I have been making quick layouts with less Cricut cuts. I find a sketch makes it much quicker to put a layout together. This sketch is by Diana.

Curling Christmas card - day 10
This week, our city is hosting a major curling competition called Roar of the Rings. The winners from the week will represent Canada in the winter olympics. Everyone around me is super excited about the curling! That is what inspired this card.
If you are unfamiliar with curling, "hurry hard" is what they yell at the sweepers who sweep the path in front of the sliding rock.
Thanks for stopping in! See you Monday for day 10 of Christmas cards.

Canada Day Decor
I love to decorate our mantel for the holidays throughout the year. Rarely ever use the fireplace, but love the decor possibilities.
I found this free printable
Free Canada Day printable at Simply Goud
I also love this printable as well. I found both of these on Pinterest (no surprise there).

The banner was cut with the Go Canada Cricut cartridge. The photo mat paper is a "Canada" one by Creative Imaginations.
Have a great day! Happy decorating!

Day 12 of Holiday inspiration - gift card holder
Welcome to day 12!!!
I am still working on teacher/bus driver gifts. Here is a gift card holder. In Canada, we love our Tim Horton's coffee. So much so, that the Go Canada Cricut cartridge came with the following design.
I am going to have my son write on the coffee cup label.
Thanks for visiting! Yay! I completed 12 days!

Downhill skiing layout with Echo Park
My son was reluctant to try downhill skiing for the first time. These photos are from his first time skiing.
This layout uses all Winter Park paper by the Echo Park Paper Company. It was a quick one to put together with all the great little paper add-ons like the tickets and journaling spots (I covered the children's names). The title on this layout is cut from the new Go Canada Cricut cartridge, I figured that would be an appropriate font for a winter layout...
I am entering this layout at SOUS. I am a big fan of this challenge site and would like to participate a bit more this year. Secondly, I am submitting at Cooking with Cricut. Their challenge this week is to create a project based on an amazing winter photograph.
