Personalized lantern cards
I really enjoy making Christmas cards that are more personal than ones you buy in a store. I love that with my Cricut and a printer I can easily do that. Last year, I made paper ornaments. This year, family names on a lantern.
I also LOVE seeing my paper ornaments on my friends and family's Christmas trees! It warms my crafty heart.

Elk Christmas Card
I wanted to create some nature-type Christmas cards this year. I was trying to use Banff National Park as my inspiration. One animal commonly found animal in Banff is elk. I just love this circle image and think it would make a beautiful floating ornament. I was so impressed with how my Cricut Maker cut this intricate cut!
I cut out a circle in my base card just to add a bit of pop and heat embossed my sentiment for some shine.

Humbug - a Winnipeg Christmas Card
This is very much a card for those who live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. One Christmas symbol that is iconic in our city is an apartment balcony with the word HUMBUG in red Christmas lights. I remember this from 40ish years ago and the tradition is still going strong with the new apartment dwellers in the building. (Was it written in the rental agreement??) For this card, I recreated the balcony by making a bridge style card. I found a lights-type of font online and cut the bottom layer in red glitter paper. I used acetate to secure the balcony railing to the side folds.
Now... here's hoping people understand my card.
