Is this not the cutest gift card holder? If you would like to make your own, the file is available at Let's learn Cricut Explore facebook group. The file was created by Debbie O'Neal. Here is her website. I am making them for all of my kids' teachers so that is eleven in total.

Welcome!
Today's Christmas card featuring the leg lamp from one of our favourite holiday movies. Our family loves A Christmas Story. The hubs and I even saw it live on stage last year.
The leg lamp is a png file that I found online. I used the print and cut feature with my Explore. The snowy window is from the Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge.

For the sentiment, I used a Crayola fine tip marker in my Explore. So easy to do using the add text feature with the Cricut Explore.
See you Friday for Day Five!

12 Days of Christmas Projects starts tomorrow
I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving in the US and I hope my Canadian friends are staying warm. Brrr. It's already been a record-breaking cold week for us in Winnipeg.
I am excited to start posting my Christmas cards! My twelve days of Christmas projects will begin tomorrow morning. So please stop in anytime over the next twelve days of posts.
I purchased my Cricut Explore this fall and then in October I participated in my first ever online crop. During the crop, I started making Christmas cards. The crop was tons of fun and forced the participants to get more comfortable with their Explores with the challenges issued. If you are on facebook and are curious about the Explore, I recommend joining this group
Let's learn Cricut Explore.
See you tomorrow!

Cricut Halloween costumes
I really do use my Cricut machines for everything including Halloween costumes!
This year my daughter is dressing up as a tardis (time travelling phone booth) from the show Doctor Who. I still need to laminate the poster board (in case of rain) and attach shoulder straps.
Last year my son went as a nuclear reactor worker. We bought an inexpensive painting suit and I used vinyl for the lettering and symbols.
I love that I designed these costumes with my kids! An added bonus is that you can create costumes large enough for a winter coat to go underneath. (Often necessary here.)

Cricut Explore "Make it now" free layout
I have never cut a pre-designed layout on my Cricut Expression or Explore. I figure, why not take advantage of the creativity of the Provocraft designers. This layout called "Birds of a Feather" is available on Design Space for free. I added the clothespins, ribbon and buttons.
I like it! It's perfect for an Instax camera photo of my daughter and her friend. The cameras, film and accessories are now available at Walmart and Michaels.
If you are curious about these cameras they are super fun but the photo quality is much like its predecessor the Polaroid camera. It IS perfect for a twelve year old girl though! And, after all, I'm happy with any scrap-worthy shots.

Happy World Card-Making Day!
Of course, I had to post some cards today! Though, I do not enjoy making sympathy cards, I also believe that they can be the most important to give out. I like to make a few at a time so I always have one available.

Al Capone's Tunnel Tour layout
Hello! I have a summer road trip layout for you today from the summer of 2012. I have now finished that travel album!
There are no photos of the actual tunnel tour because cameras were not allowed. :( I loved the tour and hearing how Al Capone would secretly escape to Canada.

Cricut Explore Print and Cut
Hi Everyone! I am on day 13 of owning a Cricut Explore. Yes, that means my free subscription ends tomorrow. :(
Last night, Cricut Explore had an update. They released the print and then cut feature. The first step is calibrating your machine in using this feature. Design Space explained every step along the way. This is my first printable cut ever! It's from the imagine cartridge Greeting Cards Inside Out.
So, then I tried a regular Cricut cartridge cut. This cut is from the Movie Night cartridge. The only step to remember is to hit "flatten" if you only want one layer printed and cut.
I am still very much a newbie, but so far, I am loving this machine. There are many youtube videos on explaining how to get set up to print and cut as well as the information on the Cricut.com website.

Cricut Explore
Hiddy-ho there everyone!
Summer is over around here. It was a great one but seemed too short. The kids are back to school and I am getting back to scrapping. On the first day of school, I sent my kids off and drove straight to a scrappy store and bought a Cricut Explore. I opened the box last week and have been cutting like mad. The free subscription of cartridges is for only two weeks. Ack! I want to take full advantage of this! So far, it cuts beautifully. The pressure of all these wonderful cartridges disappearing in two weeks has kicked the scrapbooking into high gear. I will post many layouts soon.
I hope everyone is well! I will be in my scrapbook room.

Summer mini album
The hubs asked me to come to his school this week and do some scrapbooking with the junior high students. I quickly made up a mini album using solid color cardstock and cereal boxes. The girls were very polite, keen and seemed to enjoy making them.
Today is the last day of school for my children so now I can't wait to start making our summer memories!

Teacher gifts
So close to the end of the school year, yet so much to do in that time. Here are three teacher gifts I have prepped.
To make these gift card holders, I designed a long tag in the Cricut Craftroom and then folded it over to hold a giftcard. My children go to school in French, therefore the "Merci" cut from Create A Critter is perfect.

Travel mini-album 2014
Hello scrappy peeps! Earlier this Spring, I was fortunate enough to get to travel to Washington DC on a volunteer gig. We spent four days there touring museums, monuments and listening to human rights speakers. Love DC! On our way home, I did a four day stopover in Chicago. This album is for both cities. I tend to save/hoard travel memorabilia when I am away. This type of album is perfect for that because you can stick/smash it all in. In this album, I have boarding passes, maps, restaurant menus, tickets, programs a-n-d photos.
In DC, I can across a stationary store called Papyrus. They had a tiny little section of travel scrapooking items. I bought an journaling pack and a roll of washi tape. I figured these would be a great scrappy souvenir I could use to scrap my trip.
The paper in this album is quite the mishmash of Crate Paper, My Minds Eye, DCWV and Recollections. Anyone else notice that Recollections has paper identical to My Minds Eye? I did not use alot of Cricut cuts in this album. I used 50 States, From My Kitchen and Just Because Cards.
Thanks for stopping in!

Father's Day 2014
Here is a clean and simple card for the hubs for Father's Day. He likes the color blue and therefore he has many, almost, identical blue dress shirts and ties. My son and I joke that his co-workers probably think he wears the same outfit every single day.

Thank you card
Hello! I am planning to catch up on some card-making this week. I have some thank you cards, some teacher cards and a condolence card to make.
Thanks for stopping in!
Long time - no blog
I have a variety of reasons/excuses for not posting more frequently. The best one of the list is that I was traveling...
Here are two pages from my future vacation mini-album. I am busy smooshing(no copyright infringement here) everything into a little scrapbook. I loved visiting both cities! The history in Washington DC is so amazing. In Chicago, I loved the deep-dish pizza and the architectural river tour.
Thanks for stopping by. I have missed scrapping, blogging and chatting!

The story of the mini album
For Christmas this year, my mother-in-law gave me a book of gift cards. I know, the best gift ever! She made the book by hand. She used her heat gun, embossing powders, stamps, Christmas papers and hand drew many different Christmas images. As I paged through this album of gift cards to my favorite stores, I had an idea. I wanted to fill the album with Christmas pictures and give it back to her. That way she would have Christmas pictures of her family celebrating the holidays.
I packed all my printed photos and supplies and figured this would be a great project to work on at a crop. Once, I settled in with my scrappy friends, they questioned what I was doing. My husband also was worried it might insult his mother. Did I make a mistake? I started to question what I had done.
Thankfully, she loved it. We gave it to her for Valentines Day. I love the end result as well. Now we have some wonderful giftcards, a great album filled with love AND a funny story.

#We Are Winter Olympics layout
We love the winter olympics! I hope the hubs doesn't mind that I repurposed his valentine for this layout.
The printed paper is from Michaels. The brand is Paper House Productions.
Much thanks to Char for the missing letter "r" to finish this one.

Our bookworm layout
Hello! Thanks for popping by! This is a layout of my daughter. I took a picture of her reading and wanted to scrap it. I also wanted to journal some of her current favourite books.
I started out my trying to find a book pocket on my Cricut cartridges. I didn't have one, so I created one in the Craft Room. Easy Peasy!
Next, I found a library card printable.
Here is the link.
So This is Julie
The books are just various little rectangles cut out from the George Cricut Cartridge.
